SUSTAINABILITY
Being sustainable and ecological is a part of IAZ. We care about the design and the look, it’s fashion after all, but none of this should come at the expense of the natural world. We know this can be hard, and nothing is perfect, but we are trying to do the best we can, while being transparent about how we do things.
YOUR IAZ T-SHIRT
100% organic cotton - this cotton comes from natural seeds so there is no need for chemicals or pesticides that pollute the natural world and damage the eco-system. We keep the water used to a minimum – it’ll be washed once to remove vegetable fats from the weaving process and then any further dye processes will follow the maximum sustainability standards.
ethically sourced – everything has been bought through fair trade and directly with the farmers themselves. The manufacturing is in line with the highest quality European standards.
low-emission product – IAZ t-shirts are manufactured and produced close to home. The organic cotton comes from Turkey where it’s also spun, then the weaving happens in Portugal, and finally the patterns are hand-embroidered in our studio in Spain using 100% organic cotton again (only this time from the Netherlands).
ALL OUR PACKAGING IS ECO-FRIENDLY
All our mailers are made of plant-based material (such as field corn or wheat straw) and are 100% compostable that leave no harmful residues behind. Every single bag that your IAZ product comes in can either be composted at home, used as your next compostable bin bag, or resealed to be used again.
The tissue paper that carefully protects your IAZ products is FSC certified and made with wood pulp that has been responsibly sourced and harvested (always from well-managed forests that are environmentally conscious). The paper is printed with soy ink made from real soy beans – not only is this a renewable resource but it doesn’t leave behind any petroleum-based stuff when decomposing. This is also why we use acid free paper as well.
Our stickers are also FSC certified, made with soy ink and acid free. They’re also completely recyclable.
The box comprises 90 per cent recycled material with ecologic ink. As well as being ethically sourced and containing no petroleum-based plastics, every box is manufactured in Europe so we can keep emissions low.
